betPawa Premier League returns as Accra Lions clash with Samartex on Monday, Gold Stars take on RTU – Preview

Accra Lions will host Samartex FC at the Sogakope WAFA Park on Monday as the betPawa Premier League returns after the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 finals.
This showdown is their first in the elite League with the home side gaining promotion in the 2021/22 whiles Samartex were promoted this season. Accra Lions sit second in the League table with 15 points whiles Samartex are currently 13th in the log with 10 points having won their last two games against Kotoku Royals (1-0) and Karela United (1-0).
Accra Lions have lost two and won three in their last five Premier League games and a win on Monday would take them back to the top of the table until leaders Aduana FC play on Tuesday. Coach Ibrahim Tanko who traveled to the World Cup as one of the four home-based coaches will be coming into the game with higher hopes having gained an appreciable lrvel of experience from the World Cup.
Lions will miss the services of Dominic Nsobila – who is with the Black Galaxies but the likes of Andrews Owusu and Frederick Asante are available for selection whiles Samartex will rely on their current top scorer Seidu Abubakari.
The attacker has three goals to his name and goes into the match as one of the players to watch – while the likes of Seidu Dauda and Gabriel Bonnah provide steel in midfield.
The match which is scheduled for 3pm kick off will be live on Startimes Adepa channel 247.
In form Bibiani Gold Stars will battle Real Tamale United at the Dun’s Park. The home side lies 6th in the League log following their recent run of form – three wins and a draw in their last four matches.
Real Tamale United on the other hand, will be coming into the game with loads of optimism after dispatching Champions Asante Kotoko 2-1 on Matchday 8. RTU are currently 11th in the league log with 11 points and have managed three wins in their last five games.
