Following the suspension of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season due to a High Court Injunction, Hearts of Oak engaged in a friendly against lower-tier side Tema United.
Hearts defeated the second division outfit 3-1 at their Pobiman Training Complex on Saturday afternoon.
Hearts winger Salifu Ibrahim, who has been in the treatment room for some time now, returned to score for Hearts, with youngster Benjamin York bagging a brace.
The reigning FA Cup winners used the game as preparation ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup fixture against Malian side Real Bamako.
Hearts drew a bye in the first round and will have to navigate their way around the 2021–22 Malian Cup winners.
They will travel to Mali on the weekend of October 7-9, 2022, for the first leg encounter. The return leg will be held at the Accra Sports Stadium on the weekend of October 14–16, 2022.
Before the league was halted by the Ghana Football Association, Hearts of Oak were winless in three games, losing one and drawing two, leading to the sacking of head coach Samuel Boadu.
