Match Report: Asante Kotoko end preseason tour in Sudan without a win after Al Ahli draw

Asante Kotoko capped their pre-season preparations in Sudan on Wednesday morning with the last game against Al Ahli Khartoum, which ended in a draw.

The Ghanaian giants held the Sudanese side in a 1-1 stalemate at the Al Hilal Stadium in an exercise played behind closed doors.

After a goalless draw in the first half of the encounter, Al Ahli opened the scoring.

However, with five minutes to go, the Porcupine Warriors levelled the score through forward Dickson Afoakwa.

Though the club did not win a match, exercise is expected to trim off the rough edges exposed by the four friendly games played.

Kotoko suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Al Hilal before succumbing to a 5-0 defeat by the same side.

The woes of the Reds were deepened after losing their third straight game to Simba SC by a score of 4-2.

The club will return home on Thursday, September 1 to continue their preparation for the preliminary round first leg clash of the Caf Champions League against RC Kadiogo.
