Transfer News: Blow to Hearts of Oak as move for highly-rated midfielder collapses – Here is why

Francis Twene is set to remain Bechem United player after Hearts of Oak and the player’s representatives failed to agree on the structure of the transfer despite reaching a fee with his club.

Samuel Boadu’s side are particularly in need of defensive reinforcements, especially after the exit of Ansah Botchway and an injury to Nurudeen Aziz.

However, Twene’s transfer saga has taken a new twist as Ghana Premier League transfer expect Mo Shaban of Atinka FM reported on Friday, August 5, that the youngster was set to remain at Bechem United.

It was initially believed that Hearts of Oak had agreed a an undisclosed fee with Bechem United, but as per the new developments, that did not happen as the Phobians failed to meet the demands of the player and his representatives.

Although the Hunters had been willing to let Twene depart should he desire it, they are happy with the midfielder and will not force him out of the club this summer.

Despite missing out on one of their targets, Hearts should be welcoming some new players to the club soon.

What next for Hearts of Oak?

The Rainbow club will now turn their attention to former player Benjamin Afutu, who is looking more likely to move to the club.
