On the final day of the season, Accra Lions faced newly crowned champions Asante Kotoko in a tense match at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Samuel Boateng nullified Abass Samari’s second-half goal, and the two teams shared the spoils.
Accra Lions made a strong start, as Osman Kasim jumped high to meet a corner from Abass Samari, coming close to taking the lead.
After a stretch of control from the hosts, Samari came close to breaking the deadlock, but his header from a cross from Rashid Abubakar flew inches wide.
The Porcupine Warriors proceeded to intimidate the Accra Lions, and within ten minutes, the referee had issued cautions to Richmond Lamptey and Mudasiru Salifu.
Just before the halftime, Asante Kotoko’s greatest chance came when Frank Mbella had only Fredrick Asare to beat, but the Lions goalkeeper was up to the challenge.
Six minutes after the break, the hosts broke the deadlock through Abass Samari when he met a cross from Rashid Abubakar , leaving Kwame Baah glued to his place.
Mbella rounded up Fredrick Asare due to a Nsobila error, but he failed to hold his ground, and the ball was lost.
In the dying minutes, the Porcupine Warriors heaped on the pressure, and a defensive blunder allowed Kotoko to equalize through Samuel Boateng.
