Interim head coach Otto Addo has submitted his squad to the Black Stars Management Committee for assessment ahead of the final round of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria.
Nigeria coach Augustine Eguavoen has already assembled a terror squad to face the four-time AFCON winners.
Ghana host Nigeria in the first leg on March 25 at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium before traveling to Abuja for the second leg on March 29 at the Mashood Abiola Stadium.
The all-important clash at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium is just 16 days away and Addo is waiting for approval from the Management Committee.
Otto Addo has named several youngsters in the Black Stars squad with Jeffrey Schlupp returning to the side. Alfred Duncan’s name has been included in the list but the player is yet to decide whether to accept of decline the interview according to Sadick Adams (Sports Obama).
Notable among these players include France-based midfielder Osman Bukari and Bristol City striker Antoine Semenyo who has been on fire in the English Championship.
Again, Dutch-born defender of Ghanaian descent Leeroy Owusu, who was born to Ghanaian parents in the Netherlands has been called.
Sadick Adams also confirmed that Mohammed Salisu’s arrival is in doubt due to injury but there is an ongoing negotiations with the Southampton defender.
Also, there’s a deliberation on whether to call Sulley Muntari since Ghana will miss the services of captain Andre Ayew for the two games.
Hearts of Oak defender Dennis Korsah, who recently joined the Phobians from Ebusua Dwarfs, has been put on standby.
Although, a lot of Ghanaians are hoping that Aduana Stars striker Bright Agyei who has scored 12 goals in Ghana Premier League get a call up but the coaches are not fully convinced.
