Ghana youth midfielder Mathew Anim Cudjoe says he is enjoying life in Scotland as he is ready to play for Dundee United.
The Scottish Premier League side announced the signing of the Ghanaian youth prospect in November, last year in a three-year deal .
Cudjoe, 18, joined Dundee from Ghanaian lower-tier side Young Apostles after loan stints with Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Legon Cities in the Ghana Premier League.
“I am happy to be here. It is a great club. When I came here everyone welcomed me so I am happy to be here, ” he told the club’s media.
“Ghana football and football here, there is a difference. Because football here, is more physical and faster but in Ghana, you can relax and play
“Yes, I prefer playing here because players in Africa want to travel and play in Europe.
“Bayern Munich is a big club and I went there for trials. I learned a lot because they have good and experienced players so it’s not easy to be there and I learned a lot.
“I was in Ghana and my dad called me that this team (Dundee United) were interested in me so I have to come here and do my best for the team.”
In March 2021, he helped his country lift the U20 African Cup of Nations – playing in all six games throughout the tournament, including the final – in which the Black Satellites defeated Uganda U20 2-0.
