Any player above 30 years in Black Stars is a politician – Kwesi Nyantakyi  

Former President of the Ghana Football Association Kwesi Nyantakyi says players that are more than 30 years and playing for the Black Stars are politicians. 

The former Confederation of African Football (Caf) Vice President reveals these players come into the national team with all sort of agitations. 

Nyantakyi used the 2010 World Cup squad as an example where a chunk of the victorious 2009 U-20 World Cup squad were promoted straight into the Black Stars. 

He made this known Thursday night during a discussion on GTV Sports Plus’ program “Saving Our Passion”. 

“Any player over 30 years is not a player, but a politician, coming into your team with all sorts of agitations. 

“Some senior players during 2010 camping lost selection in Paris because the young players were good enough for the job.”

Kwesi Nyantakyi is serving a 15-year Fifa ban from all football-related activities after the ‘Number 12’ documentary in 2018 when he was caught on Camera taking bribe.
