2021/22 GPL: Match Report – Abbey-Quaye scores again as Olympics pip wasteful Legon Cities
1 min read
Accra Great Olympics on Saturday evening condemned Legon Cities to a 1-0 defeat in match-day three of 2021/22 Ghana Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Youngster Maxwell Abbey Quaye continued from where he left off last weekend by snatching the game’s only goal on the day after bagging the first hat-trick of the season.
After failing to make any meaningful impact in the opening quarter of the game, Abbey Quaye upped his performance and slotted Olympics in front in the 20th minute with a tap in from a cross.
Although, they had several opportunities to double their lead even after the break, Olympics were sluggish and could not make them count.
Cities improved their performance in the second half of the duel but were very wasteful with Jonah Attuquaye been the worst culprit
Annor Walker’s side have now won two games in a row and sit second on the log with seven points, two points behind Asante Kotoko who are topping the chart.
