Talented youngster Clinton ‘Messi’ Opoku trains with Asante Kotoko, set to sign a long-term deal

Whizzkid Clinton ‘Messi’ Opoku was on Monday spotted at the training grounds of Ghanaian powerhouse Asante Kotoko when the team commenced their preseason ahead of the 2021/22 football season.
Footydreamsgh.com can confirm that Opoku, popularly known as ‘Asuom Messi’ trained for the first time with Kotoko under the tutelage of new head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum at the Adako Jachie Training Complex on Monday afternoon.
The talented 16-year-old was instrumental for Phar Rangers and was rated among the best forwards in the 2020/21 Division One League zone Three before his club decided to withdraw from all competitions organized by the Ghana Football Association.
Snippets of information gathered by our outfit indicate that, the handlers of the Porcupine Warriors are enthused about the talent of Opoku and are ready to sign him for a long term in the coming days.
Opoku joined Phar Rangers from Eastern Region based second division side Kwaebibirem United FC.
Asante Kotoko have so far acquired the services of former Inter Allies midfielder Richmond Lamptey and Maxwell Agyemang of Wamanfo Mighty Royals FC.
They are tipped to sign highly-rated striker Stephen Amankona of Berekum Chelsea. Multiple reports indicate that Kotoko have reached $35,000 deal with the hierarchy of the Bibiries.
Asante Kotoko started their preseason on Monday, September 20, 2021, ahead of the Ghana Premier League which is slated for October 29.
