Match Report: Aduana Stars secure late comeback win against Great Olympics in Accra
1 min read
Great Olympics threw away a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 against Aduana Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday night.
The shock result means Olympics are now four points behind leaders Asante Kotoko while Aduana Stars have moved closer to the top four.
Olympics were five minutes away from victory but it was enough time for Aduana Stars to stage a comeback.
Forward Maxwell Nii Abbey Quaye fired Olympics in front as they won the first half.
They doubled their lead 11 minutes after the break courtesy of striker Abdul Mudasiru.
Olympics fans at the stadium thought they had secured three points, which would have seen them maintain the one-point that separated them and Kotoko.
But the Fire club improved tremendously and earned their reward. Sam Adams started the scoring as he halved the deficit in the 60th minute.
They equalised in the 85th minute through Bright Adjei before Adams scored the winner in the 90th minute.
Aduana have completed the double over Olympics after winning the first encounter 2-1 in Dormaa.
