2025/26 GPL Matchday 2 Report: Medeama thrash Vision FC to stay top of the table

2 min read

Medeama Sporting Club delivered a dominant performance in their first home fixture of the season, thrashing Vision FC 4-0 to maintain their perfect start to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign.

Two goals in each half sealed the emphatic win for Ibrahim Tanko’s men, who now sit comfortably at the top of the table with six points from two games—scoring six and conceding none.

Returning to their Tarkwa base after an impressive 2-0 away win at Basake, Medeama wasted no time asserting control. They came out strong from the first whistle, piling pressure on Vision FC, who had opened their season with a respectable draw against former champions Samartex.

However, against 2023 champions, Vision couldn’t cope with the pace and precision of the Mauve and Yellow.

Mamudu Kamaradini opened the scoring in the 19th minute after a wave of relentless attacking play. Ten minutes later, Abdul Salam doubled the lead, giving Medeama a comfortable cushion heading into the break.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with Medeama controlling possession and tempo. Late goals from Emmanuel Owusu in the 80th minute and Nurudeen Abdulai three minutes later completed the rout and ensured three valuable points for the home side.

The win also gave Medeama the edge in their head-to-head record with Vision, having each won one game in their two meetings last season.

Vision FC must now regroup as they prepare to face league newcomers Hohoe United, while Medeama will travel to face Karela, looking to widen the gap at the top and continue their impressive early-season form.

With confidence surging and momentum building, Medeama’s pursuit of a second Premier League title looks firmly on track.
