Ghana and Nigeria played out to a goalless draw in first leg of 2022 FIFA World Cup playoff at Baba Yara Sports stadium in Friday night football.

Despite playing in front of a vociferous home fans in Kumasi, the Black Stars held their own and were unlucky not to even go ahead to win the game after missing some good chances.

In a post-match interview, Richard Ofori who was on the bench praised his teammates and stated that they are hoping for a good score-line next week to qualify to the Mundial in Qatar.

“ The guys did well, this is basically a new team, a lot of things have changed when you compare the performance of the AFCON to tonight’s display, hopefully we will win the second leg.”

Ghana travel to Abuja in four days time for the second leg of the World Cup playoff at the Moshood Abiola stadium in Abuja.

The winner over two legs will qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
