Why Bright Kankam Boadu & Crew joined Pure FM from Nhyira FM

Top notch sports journalists have become the poster boys for most radio stations especially in the Garden City of Ghana i.e. Kumasi, and it comes as no surprise that Pure FM, a subsidiary of Angel Broadcasting Network have poached the vibrant sports crew from Nhyira FM led by the eminent Bright Kankam Boadu.

Bright Kankam Boadu, affectionately known in the media circles as BKB will be anchoring the sports program which will kick start in the coming weeks while Kwabena Owusu Afriyie better known as OB Thrice together with Christian Adusei, Andrews Owusu and Jacob Atsu Sebe will follow suit as BKB.

OB Thrice is one of the trusted voices in the media blending succint analysis with a punch of education to enlighten listeners as a pundit.

Christian Adusei on the other hand, is renowned for his research based analysis backed by detailed statistics at a mid-tempo rate to make information digestible to the listener.

Young sports presenter Andrews Owusu better known as Kacylas will present the Foreign news. The young sports journalist in his short stint in the media landscape has carved a niche for himself as a credible and reliable presenter not forgetting his amazing ability as a commentator.

On the other side of the divide, Multimedia owned Nhyira FM will have a new look sports crew comprising the enigmatic and fire-brand sports presenter, Countryman Songo as head of sports alongside Javier Clemente, Bismark Owusu Bempah ‘Ayala’, sports historian Bright Yeboah Taylor will replace Andy Kacylas as the foreign newscaster and Kelvin Owusu Ansah as head of production after Andy and the rest of the production team were asked to proceed on leave.

But the question beckons how did Nhyira FM allow Bright Kankam Boadu and his team slip through their hands?

According to deep throat sources reaching Sportscorna.com, OB Thrice, Andy Kacylas, Christian Adusei and Jacob Atsu Sebe were asked to proceed on leave or better still step aside.

The source further states that, Kankam Boadu has been asked to host the Power Sports show from Monday to Thursday while Javier Clemente takes over the hosting duties on Friday and Saturday.

This decision by the management of Nhyira FM did not sit well with Kankam Boadu and then came the get-out-of-jail card in a lucrative offer from Pure FM for Bright and his crew.

He will be anchoring the sports program which will kick start in the coming weeks. The time allocation for the Sports show will be 9.40 am – 12.00pm whiles the afternoon show goes on air at 3.00pm – 4.00pm. Weekend Sports on Pure 95.7 will be transmitted live on Angel 102.9 in Accra every Saturday from 9:00am-12:00pm.

According to the latest intelligence gathered by Sportscorna.com, another heavyweight will be added to the crew. The ever industrious Jacob Atsu Sebe will produce the show.
