We were not working on good terms – George Amoakoh talks about his tenure at Kotoko
1 min readErstwhile Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer, George Amoakoh has stated that he and the club’s Executive Chairman Dr. Kwame Kyei were not working on good terms before the management was disbanded.
The George Amoakoh led management team was dissolved after the constitution of a nine-member board of directors.
The tenure of Amoakoh began on a good note but later the relationship changed with time. Reports in the media suggested Amoakoh was not involved in majority of the decisions that were taken during his era as CEO.
According to the Ghana Football Association Executive Council member, the situation hampered the progress of the club, noting that he was not surprised that he was dismissed.
“No I’m not surprised at all,” the GFA Executive Council Member said on Accra-based Asempa FM.
“For most parts of our tenure we were not working on good terms. I don’t know why.
“At the initial stages things were moving fast and nice and okay. But later I didn’t know what happened and things weren’t going the way,” he continued.
“I worked with a lot of people in management and all of them you need to seek their opinion about how we worked,” he remarked.
