VIDEO: Bechem United fans want coach Kobby Mensah sacked after four League games
2 min readBechem United coach Bismark Kobby Mensah is under pressure to quit after his side’s defeat against Medeama on matchday 4 of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.
The Hunters suffered a slender 2-1 defeat at the hands of Medeama on Saturday.
Mensah’s charges have secured only a victory and three losses after matchday four in the Ghanaian top flight.
They were beaten 2-0 in their opening game against Nsoatreman FC. FC Samartex thrashed them 4-1 in their last away game. Their only win was a 1-0 win over Dreams FC.
And the 2-1 defeat to Medeama on Saturday at Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park, which is the victors first ever win at the venue, seemed to infuriate the fans.
The cries for the dismissal of the under-fire coach have grown louder from a cross-section of the club’s fans.
Kobi Mensah signed for Bechem United before the start of the season, following the departure of Kassim Mingle Ocansey, who joined newly promoted outfit Nations FC. The captain of the side, Kofi Agbesimah, also left to join Hearts of Oak. Also, they lost their topscorer Hafiz Wontah Konkoni to Africa giants Young Africans.
Things aren’t going too well, although the season is young, but the fans insist that the sole person to carry the blame is the coach.
After Medeama’s defeat, the fans gathered behind the VIP section, shouting and calling for the sacking of the coach.
