U-TURN: Albert Commey says he will be okay whenever football resumes
1 min readChief Executive Officer of Eleven Wonders, Albert Yahaya Commey has changed his stands on the cancellation of the suspended 2019-20 Ghana Premier League season after stating that he will be okay with whenever football will return in Ghana.
The former Aduana Stars Chief is among those advocating for the resumption of football activities in the West African country, but has made a u-turn after Dr. Nsiah Asare revealed that football could return in September.
Dr. Nsiah Asare, who is the government adviser of Health suggested that, the suspended season should be truncated since it is not safe to restart football due to the increase in the COVID-19 disease cases.
When asked about his view on Dr. Nsiah Asare’s suggestion that the league could resume in September, he stated that he will side with him since he is a health expert. “I will be okay whenever football resumes, we sat for close to two years without football because of Anas Number 12 Expose,” he told Kumasi-based Fox FM.
Commey also disclosed that he agrees with Dr. Nsiah Asare’s suggestion for the league to be cancelled if only that will help minimize the spread of the COVID-19.
Initially, Mr. Albert Commey wished the league continues after the ruling government held its Parliamentary primaries and disregarded all protocols, but now sides with Dr. Nsiah Asare for the truncating of the 2019/20 league season.
