There could be chaos if you appoint someone with Hearts connections as CEO – ARCC Chief to Kotoko new board
1 min readAsante Kotoko Ashanti Regional Circles chairman, Benjamin Obeng Sekyere has cautioned the club’s new Board of Directors not to settle on a known Hearts of Oak man for the vacant Chief Executive Officer position.
Reports in the local media have strongly linked Phar Rangers Bankroller Nana Yaw Amponsah – who is perceived to be Hearts Of Oak fan – to the Porcupine Warriors’ top position.
Obeng Sekyere believes that appointing someone with affiliation to their sworn rivals will be chaotic and the fans will react if expectations are not met.
“Things could get chaotic if you appoint someone with Hearts of Oak connections because the fans can react to anything that goes bad,” he said on Sunyani-based Nimdee FM.
“There could even be a situation where there are genuine mistakes but because of the person’s known affiliation to Hearts of Oak it could cause major problem,” he added.
Special aide to Nana Yaw Amponsah has confirmed talks were on-going between Kotoko and his boss before the appointment of the newly-constituted Board of Directors of Asante Kotoko.
2019 Ghana Football Association Presidential Election aspirant George Afriyie has also been linked to the Kotoko job.
The Reds management team led by George Amoakoh was dissolved Thursday afternoon after a meeting with Board Chairman, Dr. Kwame Kyei.
