The outcome will be disastrous if Kotoko compete in Africa – NCC Spokesperson
1 min readOsei Owusu – the Public Relations Officer of the National Circles Council of Asante Kotoko has predicted doom for the club should they compete in Africa next season.
According to him, the Porcupine Warriors are not in good shape to compete with the top clubs in the CAF inter-club competitions next season.
Kotoko were given the opportunity to represent Ghana in the Caf Champions League after the Ghana Football Association Executive Council cancelled the 2019-20 football season on health grounds.
He indicated that the club should decide against competing in Africa to avoid disaster.
He told Kumasi-based OTEC FM that, “The current state of the team (Kotoko) is not in good shape. We will be exposed by the North African teams. I will agree with those calling for our withdrawer if there will be no punishment from CAF,”.
“The team should be well prepared and come out solid. The board should take this opportunity to appeal to Manhyia on the one-year player ban. This team is not in good condition for Africa or a new season,” he added.
“A player like Richard Arthur will score only 1 goal if given the opportunity to play 30 matches. It will be a disaster if Kotoko represent Ghana in Africa with this team {squad},” Osei Owusu concluded.
