Soon-to-be CEO of Asante Kotoko Nana Yaw Amponsah submits 5-year dev’t plan to the board; Academy to cost $1.7m
1 min read‘Awaiting’ Football administrator, Nana Yaw Amponsah is on the cusp of being named as the Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko bar any last-gasp change met the newly-constituted board of directors of the club in a marathon meeting Tuesday in Accra.
The Phar Rangers owner is set to be appointed to lead the Porcupine Warriors new management which is expected to be formed soon.
According to a report monitored on Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM, the football entrepreneur submitted a 34-paged 5-year development plan document to the board members in the meeting which lasted for about five hours.
The report indicated that, In his Proposal to the Asante Kotoko board , Nana Yaw Amponsah estimated the Kotoko Academy will cost them 10 million Ghana Cedis. It would be recalled that, the Manhyia Palace tasked the new directors to establish an Academy to create opportunities for the youth in the communities.
He also disclosed that, the facility will have 3 football pitches with one artificial grass and another getting flood lights, Cafeterias, restaurants and shops, Kotoko clinic and Kotoko Gym with the state of the art facilities. These facilities will serve the community as well to get some revenue to cater for the day-to-day activities of the club.
His imminent appointment nearly hit the rocks after he was heavily linked to arch-rivals Hearts Of Oak.
