Ghanaian giants Accra Hearts of Oak have officially signed Asamoah Boateng Afriyie from Nations FC following weeks of negotiations.
The 26-year-old forward completed the eagerly awaited transfer by signing a three-year deal with Hearts of Oak, having passed his medical examination.
Coach Aboubakar Ouattara, impressed by Afriyie’s performances at Nations FC last season, recommended the signing.
After a disappointing 14th-place finish last season, the 2000 African champions are aiming to strengthen their squad for a better showing in the upcoming campaign.
Afriyie had a standout season with Nations FC, scoring 11 goals in 29 league matches.
He has already begun training with Hearts of Oak, alongside Michael Mensah Awuah, who is also joining from Nations FC, and both players will be available for the Democracy Cup match against Kotoko next week.
The Democracy Cup is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
