Match Report: Naby Keita’s last-gasp goal secure win for Asante Kotoko against King Faisal

late strike from Naby Keita handed Asante Kotoko a 1-0 victory against neighbors King Faisal in the outstanding gameweek 15 Ghana Premier league fixture.
King Faisal made just a single change to the team that played against Liberty Professionals in the previous game, Richard Wiafe came in for Paul Aidoo.
Asante Kotoko as well made a number of changes to the team that lost to Elmina Sharks on Friday, Kwame Baah, Patrick Asmah, Mudasiru Salifu and Augustine Okrah were handed starts, whiles Fabio Gama started on the bench for the first time since he made his first start against Liberty.

The first half of the game ended scoreless, but it was King Faisal who came the closest to breaking the deadlock. Richard Wiafe struck the post in the opening minutes from a free kick before Kwadwo Frimpong missed a sitter.
The opening minutes of the second half saw both sides come close, Yusif Mubarak made a crucial tackle to deny Kwadwo Frimpong from opening the scoring for King Faisal, before Imoro Ibrahim struck the post from a free kick at the edge of the box.

Asante Kotoko started to see more of the ball and took the lead in the 84th minute through substitute Naby Keita. He latched onto a pass inside the box, went pass a defender before planting a low left-footed shot into the far post.
The Porcupine Warriors from then held on to win 1-0 and go level on points with rivals Hearts of Oak. Kotoko now sit 4th on the league table with 27 points after 16 games, 4 points behind leaders Karela and with a game in hand.
