Match Report: Bofoakwa Tano stun Skyy FC to win 2023 Division One League Super Cup

Bofoakwa Tano emerged as the champions of the 2023 Division One League Super Cup by defeating the defending champions, Skyy FC, in the final on Friday.

The decisive moment came in the second half when Saaka Dauda found the back of the net, securing the title for the Premier League returnees at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Friday, September 1, 2023.

The first half concluded without either team managing to score in what was a fiercely competitive contest.

Skyy FC returned from halftime with an increased intensity, seeking to take the lead. They made numerous efforts to break through against the Premier League side.

However, it was Bofoakwa Tano who drew first blood in the 72nd minute, courtesy of Saaka Dauda’s well-placed finish, which gave his team the lead.

Despite a late surge from Skyy FC, Bofoakwa Tano held their ground and maintained their lead until the final whistle.

In an earlier match, Nations FC secured third place by defeating Hearts of Lions 5-3 in a penalty shootout.
