1 min readAsante Kotoko, who have been training in Nsuta Beposo for the past few weeks, played to an exciting 1-1 draw against Kharis Sports Academy in a pre-season friendly at the K.K. Sarpong Sports Complex.
Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum fielded a strong starting lineup that featured some of the club’s new signings from this transfer window.
Despite their star-studded Premier League lineup, Kharis Sports Academy took the lead midway through the first half when Ebenezer Kobina delivered a superb strike.
Asante Kotoko made several attempts to equalize before the first half ended, but their efforts were in vain.
In the second half, Asante Kotoko made changes to their lineup, introducing players like Richmond Lamptey, Enoch Morrison, and Eric Serge Zeze in the hope of scoring an early equalizer and securing more goals.
However, the lower-tier side remained resilient, thwarting all of the Porcupine Warriors’ attacks until a defensive mistake allowed Eric Serge Zeze to level the score in the 89th minute.
Asante Kotoko is set to face Kumasi Cornerstone FC in another pre-season friendly at the Dr. K.K. Sarpong Sports Complex in just a few hours.
