Kwame Kyei has not been stopped from spending on Kotoko – Manhyia

The Personal Assistant to Kofi Badu – Chief of Staff at Manhyia, Kwame Aboagye Mensah has refuted reports that the Manhyia Palace has issued a statement to Kwame Kyei to halt spending on Asante Kotoko.

Reports were rife that the Sole Shareholder of the Porcupines Warriors, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has told the Executive Chairman not fund any activities of the club again after constituting a three-member Committee to investigate the affairs of the club.

The report further indicated that Kwame Kyei, who has led the club for the past three years could be sacked after the ad-hoc Committee has submitted its report to the Asantehene.

But Aboagye Mensah has denied those report and has called on all media outlets to be circumspect in their reportage since Manhyia does not condone lies.

“It’s never true Manhyia has directed Dr.Kwame Kyei to stop spending on Kotoko. It is very pathetic to hear such lies always hovering around the club and Dr.Kwame Kyei. We will be glad to receive audios of journalists tarnishing the image of Manhyia, Kotoko and Dr.Kwame Kyei so that the needed actions will be taken,” he told Kumasi-based Light FM.

“We will advice all journalists in the country to be circumspect about their words and exhibit responsible Journalism going forward because Manhyia don’t condone those acts.

“All Kotoko supporters should exercise patience and rally behind Dr.Kwame Kyei and we (Manhyia) believe he will take the team to the promise land,” he added.
