Jordan Ayew breaks Tony Yeboah’s goal scoring record to become Ghana’s top scorer in EPL

Crystal Palace red-hot attacker Jordan Ayew has overtaken Anthony Yeboah to become the highest Ghanaian scorer in the English Premier League.

Ayew, who has been in scintillating form for the Eagles this season, grabbed his tenth goal of the 2019-20 season after scoring in their 2-0 win against AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday evening.

Luka Milivojevic put Roy Hodgson side ahead in the 12th minute with a sumptuous free-kick from the edge of the box.

Ayew, then scored with a sublime finish in the 23rd minute after guiding Patrick van Aanholt’s low cross beyond goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

The strike was the former Olympique Marseille forward’s tenth goal of the season in all competitions.

He has now netted 25 goals in the English top-flight since signing for Aston Villa five years ago.

Ayew is now the highest Ghanaian scorer in with 25 goals, leapfrogging Leeds United legend Anthony Yeboah to the feat.
