Ghana coach Chris Hughton has made changes to the squad for the upcoming international friendlies, calling upon Kingsley Schindler, Jerome Opoku, and Stephan Ambrosius to replace injured players.
The Black Stars are in preparation mode for their forthcoming matches against Mexico and the USA, vital fixtures to get ready for the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Unfortunately, injuries have ruled out four of the initially selected 23 players, necessitating quick adjustments to the team’s lineup. Injured players Tariq Lamptey, Daniel Amartey, Alexander Djiku, and Osman Bukari will be unable to participate in the upcoming friendlies against Mexico and the USA.
In response to these setbacks, Coach Chris Hughton has acted promptly, bringing in three new players to fill the gaps left by the injured squad members. Kingsley Schindler, Jerome Opoku, and Stephan Ambrosius have received call-ups and are expected to bolster the squad for the upcoming fixtures.
The first of these friendly matches, featuring the Ghana national team against Mexico, is set to take place on Saturday, October 14, 2023. This marks a pivotal moment in their preparations for future competitions.
