Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s pursuit for players to beef up their squad ahead of next season is still on the go, as the club looks to augment their playing body ahead of the CAF Champions League and the Local Football Seasons.
The techical team of the Porcupine Warriors has opted for Karela United’s Emmanuel Keyekeh at the expense of former AshantiGold midfielder James Akaminko in their pursuit for a midfielder before the commencement of the 2020/21 CAF Champions League Competition as well as the Local Football Season.
According to Fox FM, the technical team of Kotoko considered the following criteria before arriving at Emmanuel Keyekeh: height, defending abilities, shooting from outside the box and player disciplinary attitude.
Earlier this week, Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM reported that, head coach Maxwell Konadu is not satisfied with the attitudinal conduct of the former Tema Youth midfielder who he believes will be a major threat when it comes to observing peace in the playing body of the Porcupine Warriors.
As a result, they have settled on Keyekeh. The lanky midfielder recently informed the management of Karela United to allow him switch camp to the Ghanaian giants.
Akaminko could not extend his contract with the Miners after the expiration of his contract.
