The 26-year-old joins the German Bundesliga 2 outfit on a 3-year-deal from Spanish fold Deportivo Alaves for an undisclosed fee.
“I’m really happy to be here. I’ve always dreamed of playing in Germany and I’m happy to be part of Hannover 96 now,” Patrick Twumasi said after sealing his move.
Twumasi is expected to add quality and experience to the Hannover 96 squad as they aim to return to Bundesliga by the end of the season.
“With Patrick Twumasi we get a very variable offensive player. He can play on both wing positions, but also as a central striker. Patrick is fast, technically adept and has always had excellent scorer scores in his previous positions,” Gerhard Zuber, Sport Director of Hannover 96 said in statement released by the club on it official website.
Twumasi spent last season on loan at Gaziantep FK. He made 26 appearances, scoring six goals and providing five assists. He in the process helped the team secure a 8th place finish.
The right winger has previously played for Red Bull Ghana, Spartaks Jūrmala, Astana, Amkar Perm, Alavés and Gaziantep.
At national level, he has made two appearances for the Ghana national team.
