Ghanaian defender Gideon Mensah completes move to Vitória Guimarães

Ghanaian defender, Gideon Mensah has completed his switch to Portuguese top-flight side Vitória Guimarães, the club has announced.

Mensah is joining Guimarães on loan and will stay with his new employers until the end of the 2020/2021 season. He joined from Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg.

The 22-year-old went on loan to Belgian top-flight side Waasland Beveren where he put up splendid performance during last season, making 23 appearances and 3 assist.

The Black Stars left-back was initially linked with moves to FC Porto, RSC Anderlecht, KRC Genk and several other clubs.

The WAFA Academy graduate has two caps for the Black Stars after making his debut in October 2019 during the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifications against South Africa in Cape Coast.

Mensah was officially unveiled on Monday and her will proceed to join squad who are in their pre-season activities going in Quiaios.
