Ghana defeat Liberia in international friendly
1 min readGhana produced an exciting display to record a 3-1 win over Liberia in an international friendly Tuesday evening.
The Black Stars used their opponents as a test to build on their positives and fix the wrongs from their victory in Kumasi against Central African Republic on Thursday.
And at the Accra Sports Stadium, three goals in the second half were satisfactory after a goalless first half despite dominating most parts of the encounter.
Ernest Nuamah opened the scoring for the Black Stars in the 51st minute after he was assisted by defender Nicholas Opoku.
Seven minutes later, the Olympic Lyon forward turned the provider as he assisted Mohammed Kudus to score Ghana’s second goal of the evening.
Later in the game, substitute Jordan Ayew equalised from close range to increase the lead for Ghana to 3.
In added time, the Ghana defense could not stay resolute, allowing Liberia to pull one back to force the contest into a 3-1 defeat.
Today’s win means that Coach Chris Hughton has now won 3 matches after playing five matches with the Black Stars.
