GFA needs to put down proper measures to ensure resumption of football – Fred Pappoe

Former vice-president of the Ghana Football Association, Fred Pappoe has urged the hierarchy of the association to put in place proper measures to ensure football restart.

Football activities in the country is still on hold owing to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The GFA suspended its programs after the government of Ghana banned public gatherings.

The directive, which has been extended to July 31, 2020, forced the football governing body to suspend its activities in mid-March.

However, the hierarchy of the Ghana FA has decided to take a decision on the future of the game latest June 30, 2020.

Speaking to Kumasi-based Sikka FM, the 2019 Ghana FA presidential candidate indicated that the Kurt Okraku led administration needs to put proper measures to make it possible for football to return.

“The Ghana Football Association needs to put down proper measures to ensure the resumption of football,” Fred Pappoe said on Sikka FM.

Some football administrators have suggested that the country’s football activities should be continued when the situation is conducive to play again.

On the other hand, others believe the season should be annulled completely.
