Football under NPP government has been a mess – CEO of Hasaacas
1 min readChief Executive Officer of Sekondi Hasaacas Samuel Arbuah has said that football under the ruling New Patriotic Party has been a mess following the consecutive cancellation of football seasons.
The 2019-20 Ghana Premier League which showed so much prospects in terms of patronage was cancelled Tuesday after a marathon meeting of the Ghana Football Association Executive Council.
In 2018, Ghana football was in the dark as the Association had to truncate its season following an investigative video on corruption aired by Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
Since then the football fraternity has struggled to put the pieces together with regards to organizing a league.
In March this year, the Ghana FA suspended its football activities due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequently had to truncate the season on health grounds.
Unhappy Arbuah expressed worry about those who have invested in the game of football in the past three years.
“Football under this Government has been a mess in this country.Three consecutive times we haven’t seen a full season, it’s a great mess for football investors but can’t blame them directly, only time is how they handled the Anas issue,” Samuel Arbuah on Oyerepa 100.7FM.
