The top-flight as well as the lower Divisions leagues were put on hold due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The League had then reached week 15.

However, Ayi believes that defensive midfielder was the best before the suspension of the league despite the output of the two top strikers.
“Benjamin Afutu is the player that should be awarded if the league is to be restarted for a new season looking at his contribution for us (Hearts of Oak), he was all over before the league was halted,” he told Kumasi-based Wontumi Radio.
“Although Yahaya, Victorien and some crop of players were scoring BUT for a striker to score it must come from the back before it can reach to them.”
Football activities in the country is still on hold due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
