1 min readAsante Kotoko board has asked Dr. Kwame Kyei to ensure that the outstanding salaries of former Chief Executive Officer George Amoakoh is paid by their next meeting, according to Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM.
The George Amoakoh led management team was dissolved after the newly-constituted board of directors were inaugurated to start their three-year mandate.
However, the club still owes the astute football administrator five months salaries from February to June.
Reports were rife that the Ghana Football Association Executive Council member wrote a letter to the board during their meeting on Tuesday to demand for his unpaid salaries – a report he has debunked. Mr. Amoakoh explained that he only spoke to some of the board members for clarification after he chanced on a financial report which had his records omitted.
But a source tells Oyerepa FM Sports Asante Kotoko board at its meeting last Tuesday asked Dr. Kwame Kyei to pay George Amoakoh salaries in arrears.
The report further stated that the board expects the payment to be done by their next meeting.
It would be recalled that players and officials agreed to a 30% pay-cut of salaries, and this will affect his earnings.
With the 30% deductions, Asante Kotoko is expected to pay George Amoakoh GHS 24,650. Reports indicate he was on a monthly salary of GHS 6,000.
