Anthony Annan eyes a return to Black Stars



FC Inter Turku midfielder Anthony Annan says he is still available for selection to the Black Stars despite his long absence from the national team.

The former HJK Helsinki star has been absent from the Black Stars team since he last played for Ghana in the 2010 World Cup held in South Africa.

Despite the long absence Annan, 33, is hoping to reclaim a spot in the senior national team of Ghana if CK Akonnor gives him the opportunity.

Speaking to Akoma 87.9 FM in Kumasi, Annan stated “I am available for selection if he needs me,”

‘’I am still playing active football in Finland”. Ghana is my country and I cannot turn my back to my nation if my services is needed.

“I don’t know much about C. K. Akonnor but I know he was selected based on his competence and I believe with our support, he can surely deliver,” Annan added.
