Andre Ayew’s solitary strike has given Swansea City a first leg advantage against Brentford in the Championship play-off on Sunday.
The Ghanaian international scored a beauty in the 82nd second minute from inside the penalty area against 10-man Brentford.
On the 64th minute, Ayew failed to convert a spot kick which could have placed his side ahead.
He has now scored 16 league goals- his highest tally ever in any league.
Brentford will host the Swans on Wednesday in the return leg to decide the winner.
The other semi-final between Fulham and Cardiff will be held Monday.
The winners of the two semi-final games will meet at the Wembley Stadium on August to see the club which will secure the ticket to play in the 2020/2021 Premier League, which is tentatively scheduled to start September 12.
