Alhaji Grusah to boycott media engagements

Founder and bankroller of King Faisal, Alhaji Karim Grusah has decided to shun media engagements following the appointment of George Amoako as Executive Chairman of the club.

The Kumasi-based Ghana Premier League side announced on Wednesday that, it has secured the services of former Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer George Amoako to lead the club.

He will be working with Alhaji Karmal Mohammed as his Executive vice-chairman and Sadat Anwar as the club’s CEO. Nana Amankwaa Kwakye will perform a Sporting Director role.

The outspoken football administrator, who is noted for expressing his candid opinions on football issues has decided to boycott media engagements and leave everything in the hands of George Amoako.

“It’s true. I’m done with George Amoako. Now I will not talk to any media house again, George is in charge of everything,” he said in an interview with Kumasi-based Hello FM.

“I have discussed with him the management structure of King Faisal. I’m now a founder and will remain so. George will work with Alhaji Karmal Mohammad as Executive vice-chairman and Sadat Anwar as CEO.

He continued: “I’m no more President and I have handed the running of the club in the hands of George. I support him and we pray to God to help him succeed.

He also indicated that he believes in the capabilities of the Ghana Football Association Executive Council member to deliver and make King Faisal FC great again.

“I have worked with George before and the current situation will not be appropriate to give someone terms of reference. Our worst position was fourth during his last spell and I know with my support he will deliver. We even went to Africa during those periods. I am with him and I pray he achieves something with his knowledge in the game.”

George Amoako worked with the Isha Allah Boys in 2003 during the era of Herbert Mensah.
